Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop Instructor
Sophia has over her 21 years dancing has cultivated a passion for movement and artistry across a variety of styles which include tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, acro, modern, hip hop, pom, ballroom, contemporary, and yoga. From participating in studio recitals/competition teams, high school and collegiate pom teams to national competitions, her dedication and versatility shine through.
Sophia started dancing ballet, jazz and tap at the age of 3 at a local IN dance studio where over the years her love for dance grew and expanded to include performing in such local productions as The Nutcracker and Peter Pan, she was a member of All-star teams and has competed at many studio dance team competitions, NDA Championships and won regional/state titles with the IHSDTA. Sophia has also brought her talents to the stage in musical theater, with notable roles such as Anita in West Side Story and Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan: The Musical. Beyond the stage, she served as a captain for her high school varsity dance team and earned accolades as a member of MVD which include Best Team Player Award.
Sophia currently is a full-time student at Purdue where she is studying Political Science/Pre-Law and minoring in Public Policy and Administration she is the current President of Pi Sigma Alpha (The Political Science Honor Society), Dean's list and Semester's Honors student, Kappa Delta member, Purdue University Outstanding Women of the year and a respected Purdue student leader.
Whether performing, competing, or inspiring others, Sophia combines technical skill, emotional expression, and a deep love for dance in every step she takes. She believes at the core of EVERY dancer is a good ballet foundation and couldn’t be more excited to help train the next generation of dancers.
Sophia continues her ballet education currently at the Joffrey Academy in Chicago and still takes many classes locally and in the Chicago area in many other styles
